Samantha's Recital

 Samantha has completed 3 years of Let's Play Music and played a piece she composed for the recital too.

Derrick's Recital

 Derrick did such a good job with his recital. He has been in Let's Play Music for 3 years and played a piece that he composed for the recital. He had to introduce himself and his song.

 His bow after was very sophisticated.

He told us he could be famous now since he is a composer!

Samantha Won 2nd Place

 Samantha won 2nd place for the Evening of the Arts by playing her song she composed. She played it perfectly that night too! She really handles herself well under pressure.

Good job Samantha! She inspired Derrick to participate next year!

Art Try-Outs

Samantha submitted a piano entry to the evening of the arts for her elementary school. She had been working on composing her own piece of music with her music teacher and she played it. It is called "May Flowers". She played well. We have to wait to see if she gets to play for the award ceremony.

Let's Play Music Year 2 Recital

The kids had their recital for Let's Play Music in May and they did such a great job. They are finished with year 2 and will start year 3 in the fall. The third year is the last year of classes where they will perform a piece of music they compose by themselves at the end of year recital. It is a great music program and I feel so blessed they can be part of it.
There were two classes and each class played 3 songs together while the other class sang. Samantha and Derrick were in separate classes and both did excellent performing.

New Piano

I finally got a new piano. We had quite an ordeal last time we tried to get a piano so this was really exciting. We used some of our tax return to buy it and it is wonderful! It is digital and plays like an upright and that is what I wanted. The kids like it too, obviously.
